Abbey Rose Move Complete, A Sign For Ampersand, and Periodic Table View
Abbey Rose Boutique has moved from Uptown Westerville to the gift center at Hoover Gardens on Sunbury Road. Established in 2011 by Patti Withers, the boutique closed its North State Street location ahead of its originally planned final day of January 31, 2025, to allow time for the transition.
The boutique continues to offer its eclectic mix of vintage and antique home decor, painted furniture, clothing, jewelry, and more. This new location blends Abbey Rose's distinctive offerings with the lively atmosphere of Hoover Gardens, providing an expanded shopping experience for customers.
Westerville Public Library Launches Black History Month
A young boy pauses to examine the Periodic Table of Black History at the Westerville Public Library, where the exhibit marks the beginning of Black History Month. This presentation showcases the achievements of influential Black Americans and promotes engagement through activities designed to support learning.
Participants will receive a take-home packet containing resources to continue exploring Black history beyond the library. Recommended reading includes "Beyond the Periodic Table of Black History," authored and illustrated by the table's creators, which offers deeper insights into the lives and contributions of the individuals featured.
The program aims to provide an informative and reflective experience, fostering awareness and appreciation for the lasting impact of Black leaders, artists, scientists, and activists.
New Sign Installed for the Ampersand Asian Supper Club in Uptown Westerville
The newly installed sign for Ampersand Asian Supper Club now marks its soon-to-open location in Uptown Westerville. The sign installation signals the restaurant’s progress toward its anticipated opening.
Ampersand, known for its gourmet ramen, rice bowls, and small plates, will occupy the ground floor of a new three-story building designed to complement the historic Uptown district. The restaurant, owned by Megan Ada and chef Joshua Cook, will feature Guam—and Japanese-style cuisine with house-made broths and locally sourced ingredients. When the restaurant opens later this year, a canopied patio will offer outdoor dining for guests.
