East Of Africa Planning
The city’s open house, which showed its first plans for developing East of Africa, opened earlier than planned as residents arrived before the scheduled opening time. A steady flow of people saw 18 poster boards detailing aspects of the project, from what the 88 acres looked like in 1956 to how the road would lead to business development along Africa Road and the addition of bike and walking trails.
Plans Still Developing
Although no specific business development is planned, the city will build the new roadway through the acreage to attract businesses eager for new development in Westerville. A similar process was used at Westar on the other side of Africa Road. One of the posters, below, showed East of Africa in relation to Westar's development.
