Fire Suppression Next Phase
Contractors began delivering materials on Friday for upgrading Hanby Alley in Uptown, installing new water lines and drains as part of the next phase of installing a pipeline for fire suppression systems.
Hanby Alley is an unpaved section of roadway off East Home Street behind Meza Wine Shop, Columbus Running Company, and Whit’s. It is currently unused except for parking for businesses.
The new water line will connect to Hanawalt Alley’s water lines. Overhead utilities at or near the alley will be moved underground, and new conduit will be installed for fiber networks.
Uptown Electric
A Hitachi Energy high-voltage circuit breaker, likely part of a substation upgrade, was transported through Uptown Westerville Thursday afternoon, destination unknown.
The oversized load was required to use State Highway 3C instead of city and county roads as the thoroughfare.
