Candidates Answer Questions About Their Campaigns
Get to Know the People Behind the Campaign Signs
To promote transparency, accountability, and more meaningful voter engagement, The Westerville News invited every candidate running for Westerville City Council and Westerville City School Board to respond to a set of questions, different for each group, designed not just to probe policy positions but to reveal who they are as people.
These are not the standard campaign questions. Instead of focusing solely on issues, we asked about character, decision-making, values, and emotional intelligence. The goal: to give voters a fuller, more human understanding of the individuals asking for your vote.
All but one City Council candidate responded. Every School Board candidate participated. Their answers are published in full, unedited, and linked below. Each link opens in a new tab.
We encourage you to read them. Hear directly from the candidates. Consider not just what they say, but how they say it. These responses offer an uncommon window into the mindset and priorities of those who want to help shape Westerville’s future.
