Westerville's Field of Heroes is a visual tribute to the city's veterans. Near the beginning of the walk is a small field of ceramic poppies, a reminder of "In Flanders Field," the World War I poem interpreted as being written from the point of view of the dead soldiers recently buried in a field of poppies.
