Land Trade Moves Bank From Uptown
Middlefield To Swap Locations
When approved, Middlefield Bank will swap its Uptown Westerville location on North State Street for a plot of city-owned land in the Westar development near Polaris Parkway and Cleveland Avenue.
Middlefield, which acquired Liberty National Bank for $64.4 million in 2022, plans to build a new bank at the location and close the Uptown location and the Liberty Bank at Cleveland and West Main Street.
Rachel Ray, Westerville’s Development Director, told the city council that following the acquisition of Liberty, Middlefield Bank proposed a land swap instead of merging the two locations
