One-Minute Westerville
Quick Eclipse Planning
Westerville Parks & Recreation, in collaboration with the Westerville Public Library, is organizing a viewing event for the total eclipse in Westerville. The eclipse will be fully visible for a brief period from 3:12 PM to 3:13 PM. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, chairs, and their own eclipse glasses, though a limited quantity of glasses will be available at the event.
The first 500 participants will receive a complimentary gift bag that includes a variety of items such as eclipse glasses, as well as themed snacks like Moon Pies, Sun Chips, and Capri Sun, with a limit of one bag per family.
This event is aimed at providing a family-friendly atmosphere suitable for children aged 5 and older and their families.
An Invasive Afternoon
Jenny Nelson and her seven-year-old son, Shade, pull garlic mustard and honeysuckle sprouts from the woods at Boyer Nature Preserve on Park Street in Westerville.
Nelson said she and her son prefer this time of the year for removing the invasives because the poison ivy hasn’t yet started its spring growth.
