Over The Weekend
Scrooge In Ten Chapters
Uptown Scrooge: Abridged began its Christmas series of performances Sunday in the Java Central performance space. The brief rendition of A Christmas Carol is a fast-paced, interactive take on the famous story you’ve never experienced before! The one-hour whirlwind performance combines holiday magic with audience participation.
The energy is infectious from the moment you’re greeted by lively carolers and a cranky (and deceased) Jacob Marley. The audience takes on the role of Scrooge, determining the narrative’s path by calling out chapter numbers at the cue of "HUMBUG!" With no set order, the story unfolds unpredictably as the clock ticks down to complete the tale in just 45 minutes.
Featuring a vibrant cast—including Nephew Fred, Tiny Tim, and the Ghosts of Christmas—this dynamic retelling promises humor, heart, and a unique twist on a holiday classic.
Proceeds support Good Medicine Productions, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing joy to pediatric and senior living facilities through bedside performances. By attending, you’ll enjoy a spirited show and help spread cheer to those in need.

Working The Game
For a significant group of people in Westerville, the agony of the Ohio State Buckeyes losing to Michigan on Saturday was aggravated by the fact they had to watch the losing effort while working.
Some watched the game alone on small screens, others watched in a more raucous crowd sitting at the bar, and others, without a television at their business, watched on their phones.
A photo gallery of workers watching the game is below for paid subscribers.
