Millstone Creek Park playground complete; opening planned for mid-August
The playground at Millstone Creek Park is complete, but the park will not officially open until the parking lot is paved in mid-August.
Crews are continuing work on a new wetland and nature-play area beside the playground. Forms are being installed for a winding path through the site. According to the June 2026 Westerville Parks and Recreation Board report, that portion of the project is expected to be completed in September.


Wetlands take shape at Walnut Ridge Park
Wetland areas along the existing creek at Walnut Ridge Park are beginning to take shape as construction continues.
Landscaping crews cleared trees and overgrown vegetation to make room for the new space. Builderscape is completing the park improvements, while Westerville’s Engineering Division is overseeing construction administration.

Ohio to Erie Trail reconstruction underway
Reconstruction continues on the Ohio to Erie Trail in Westerville after crews removed sections of the old path. Workers measured the cleared trail bed near the historic Westerville train station while preparing the corridor for the next stage of construction.
Restoration work advances at Alkyre Run wetland
Marks Construction has begun work on the Alkyre Run Wetland Restoration project.
Crews are installing erosion-control measures and clearing trees that were previously felled in the wetland area. Earthwork will begin after the site is cleared.
According to the June parks board report, the construction phase was expected to take about six weeks.
Everal Barn renovations continue
Renovation work is continuing at Everal Barn as part of a 2026 improvement project.
Elford Construction has installed new flooring throughout the lower level and run conduit for new lighting and HVAC units.
The project team was also working to approve a siding subcontractor and order new siding for the building.
