Council Considers Electric Rates

Westerville City Council will hear a presentation Tuesday night by Electric Utility Manager Chris Monacelli about the utility’s increasing costs and a proposal to increase utility bills to meet both current and future needs.

The report details the increasing costs and delivery time of parts and equipment with some costs increasing 248% and equipment delivery times that once were six months now taking up to 17 months. Transmission costs have also increased by 400% since 2010 and are expected to continue to increase according to the report.
