Underground Conduit Checks at East of Africa
A Westerville city electric crew spent most of the day Tuesday investigating the location of several different conduit corridors between County Line and Africa Roads as it prepares to move overhead electric lines underground as part of the East of Africa development project.
An older conduit system, installed when County Line Road was built 20 years ago, now has several new systems installed nearby. The crew took measurements and marked existing routes that might be best for new cables.
A crew member said this is the first step in a lengthy process determining locations of the conduits, their connectivity, and feasibility for new cabling.
