Former Westerville Central coach hired at Olentangy
• Justin Patrick, former head coach of the Westerville Central girls basketball team, has been named the next girls basketball coach at Olentangy High School. The hiring was announced July 2 by Olentangy athletic director Jonny Henesy and remains pending board approval.
Patrick led Westerville Central to one OCC-Ohio league title and two district runner-up finishes. His move adds a Westerville connection to one of the more notable central Ohio girls’ basketball coaching changes of the summer.
Westerville Central
• Westerville Central’s boys soccer team is scheduled to play Northland on Aug. 14. JV and varsity matches are listed for the season-opening date.
• Westerville Central boys soccer is also scheduled to play Westerville South on Aug. 27 at 5:30 p.m.
• Westerville Central football is scheduled to open its listed 2026 schedule Aug. 21 against Marion-Franklin.
• The Warhawks are scheduled to play Westerville North on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m., Dublin Jerome on Sept. 11, Pickerington North on Sept. 25 and Grove City on Oct. 2.
• Westerville Central and Westerville South are scheduled to meet in football Aug. 29 at 9 a.m., according to the posted ticketing schedule.
• Westerville Central girls soccer is scheduled to play Westerville South on Sept. 3 at 5:30 p.m.
• Westerville Central girls volleyball is scheduled to play Westerville South on Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
• Westerville Central girls golf has its first listed event July 29 against Licking Heights.
• Westerville Central has several youth events scheduled, including co-ed youth volleyball camp July 13, co-ed youth football camp July 17, youth cheer clinic Aug. 1–2 and the Westerville Central Tri on Aug. 22.
Westerville North
• Westerville North football is scheduled to open its listed 2026 schedule Aug. 21 against Marysville.
• The Warriors are scheduled to play St. Charles on Sept. 4, Westland on Oct. 2 and Dublin Scioto on Oct. 23.
• Westerville North volleyball has a youth camp scheduled July 7.
Westerville South
• Westerville South football is scheduled to open its listed 2026 schedule Aug. 22 against Dublin Jerome.
• The Wildcats are scheduled to play Westerville Central in JV and freshman games Aug. 23 and in a varsity game Aug. 30, according to the posted schedule.
• Westerville South is scheduled to play St. Charles Preparatory on Sept. 5.
Westerville Crew
• Westerville Crew’s Youth Learn to Row program continued in July at Hoover Reservoir. Session 2 concluded July 2, with evening instruction from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
• Additional Youth Learn to Row sessions are scheduled July 13–16 and July 19–22 at JCC Camp Hoover. Sessions are listed from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
• Adult Learn to Row sessions are scheduled July 13–16 from 6 to 8 p.m., July 18 from 7 to 9 a.m. and July 25–28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
• Westerville Crew’s masters team practices from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 7 to 9 a.m. Saturdays at Hoover Reservoir.
• Westerville Crew’s summer rowing season is scheduled to end July 29.
