James B. “Jim” Cunningham
September 16, 1953 – August 20, 2026
James B. “Jim” Cunningham, 72, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully Aug. 20, 2026, at home surrounded by family. He was born in Hudson, Ohio, to James and Joy Cunningham.
Jim graduated from Hudson High School in 1971 and later from Kent State University. He continued his education at Capital University Law School, earning a graduate degree in taxation in 1999.
An advocate for education, Jim later taught at Otterbein University in Westerville. He also enjoyed writing, singing, playing music with his band, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
Jim will be remembered for his commitment to education, love of music, and the many friendships he developed throughout his life.
Michael Alan Kreischer

Michael Alan Kreischer, 69, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away Aug. 22, 2026. He grew up in Westerville and attended Otterbein University.
Michael built a career in information technology in the banking industry. He was active in the community as a member of the Lions Club and Otterbein “O” Club.
He enjoyed photography, spending time outdoors, and playing and watching sports. Family was especially important to him, and he treasured his role as a grandfather.
Michael will be remembered for his community involvement, love of photography and sports, and devotion to his family.
Troy C. Thomas
July 2, 1973 – August 21, 2026
Troy C. Thomas, 53, of London, Ohio, passed away Aug. 21, 2026, at his home following a battle with melanoma. He was born in Westerville to Kent and Lynda Long Thomas.
Troy worked in a variety of general labor jobs and especially enjoyed his time as a mechanic for Goodyear. He was known as a jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed hands-on work and was never afraid of a difficult job.
He loved spending time outdoors, including hunting and four-wheeling, and also enjoyed animals, playing the harmonica, and sitting on his front porch. A devoted sports fan, he followed the Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed golfing with his sons.
Troy is survived by his children, Trent Thomas and Cassidy Thomas, Sierra Thomas and Brandon Chaffin, Shane Thomas and Cali Thomas, and Tyler Hodge and Alexa Hodge; grandchildren Sunny Thomas, Harper Chaffin, Oaklynn Thomas, Genesis Thomas, and Paisleigh Hodge; brother Trevor Thomas; life partner Patty Devinney; and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Brett Thomas; and his grandparents, Robert and Margaret Long and Albert and Kentha Thomas.
Troy will be remembered for his laid-back nature, strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and devotion to his family.
