George David “Dave” Lindimore
May 6, 1946 – July 30, 2026
George David “Dave” Lindimore, 80, passed away July 30, 2026. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio, to George Warne Lindimore and Ruby Fouts Lindimore and was raised in McConnelsville, where he graduated from M&M High School in 1964.
Dave attended Utah State University before earning his degree from Ohio University. He began his career with the State of Ohio Auditor’s Office, specializing in municipal audits, and joined the City of Westerville in 1976 as finance director. In 1985, he became city manager, serving until his retirement in 2008.
During his 32 years with Westerville, Dave helped guide major annexations and investments in roads, utilities, parks, and economic development. He played a central role in establishing the Westar and Hoff business areas and in expanding the city’s tax base and infrastructure.
Outside work, Dave enjoyed family, golf, travel, and winters in Hilton Head, South Carolina. He rarely missed family sporting events and especially enjoyed annual golf trips to Pinehurst with longtime friends.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy; sons Aaron Lindimore and Josh Lindimore and Danielle Lindimore; grandchildren Ryan, Jack, and Sam Lindimore; special daughter Ellen Wall and her sons Cooper, Bryce, and Ryan; brother-in-law Steve Sherman and Becky Sherman; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 24, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville, followed by a celebration of life from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grizzlybird Brewing Co.
Daniel R. Custard
1962 – July 26, 2026
Daniel R. Custard, 63, passed away unexpectedly July 26, 2026, in Morgantown, West Virginia. He grew up in Westerville, Ohio, and graduated from Westerville North High School in 1981.
Daniel attended The Ohio State University and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in technical management from DeVry University.
He spent 25 years in Colorado, where he enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, and other outdoor activities. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed long Harley-Davidson trips across the West, and loved music, including concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Daniel returned to Westerville in 2015 before later living in North Carolina and Morgantown. He was known for his humor, helpful nature, and ability to make friends wherever he went.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia; sister Marcy Goble and Todd Goble; niece Madison Goble; nephew Cameron Goble; former wife Ann; and his cat, Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold “Bud” Custard, as well as his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 7, at 11:30 a.m. at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Westerville. Attendees are invited to wear tie-dyed or Ohio State shirts in his memory.
Pamela Jill Johnston
April 22, 1960 – August 1, 2026
Pamela Jill Johnston, 66, a lifelong resident of the Westerville area, passed away Aug. 1, 2026.
Jill graduated from Westerville North High School in 1978 and received her minister’s license from World Harvest Bible College. She worked for 15 years as a fashion consultant at Victoria’s Secret and spent 25 years with AAA.
She enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, traveling, driving her convertible, and spending time with family. She supported numerous causes devoted to helping others and promoting justice and was a member of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and the Jerusalem Prayer Team.
Jill is survived by her son, Jesse Miller and Stevi Miller; daughter Annie Miller; grandson Quentin; sister Jan Hamann and Ed Hamann; brother Jeff Johnston and Jenny Johnston; two nieces; two nephews; and five great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Betty Johnston, and Phillip Miller, the father of her children.
Larry McVay
August 4, 1947 – August 4, 2026
Larry McVay, 79, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away at home Aug. 4, 2026. He was born in Columbus to Lawrence and Ruth Morgan McVay and graduated from Westerville High School in 1965.
Larry worked with his grandfather, father, and uncles at McVay Lumber Co. He later earned a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and briefly worked as a teacher, where he met his future wife, Nancy. They married April 11, 1969.
In 1984, Larry and his father purchased Wm. Caxton Printing. He continued working there with his son, daughter, and later his son-in-law.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Hayden McVay; daughter Michelle Van Auken and Tim Van Auken; son Chris McVay and Karol McVay; grandchildren Caitlin and Tyler Van Auken, and Susanna, Evelyn, and Benjamin McVay; and numerous cousins.
Larry enjoyed boating on Lake Erie, snorkeling in the Caribbean, golf, model trains, comic books, and the Beach Boys. He was active with the Westerville Jaycees and later Westerville Rotary, where he helped with fish fries and played in the golf league.
Wayne Raymond Skiba
May 19, 1956 – August 7, 2026
Wayne Raymond Skiba, 70, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away Aug. 7, 2026. He was born in Cleveland to Raymond and Mildred Skiba.
Wayne loved the outdoors and considered Red Mud Ridge, West Virginia, his favorite place. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and was known for his quick wit, stubborn streak, and ability to keep going despite numerous injuries over the years.
He was especially proud of being a father and deeply valued both his family and the friends he considered family.
Wayne is survived by his sons Quinn Skiba, Adam Skiba, and Eric Skiba; granddaughter Aisling; and siblings Gail, Diane, and Lynda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joyce, and his longtime partner, Paula Brown.
William Dino Torlone
August 18, 1943 – August 7, 2026
William Dino Torlone, 82, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully Aug. 7, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born in Beckley, West Virginia, to Bill and Maria Torlone.
Dino graduated from Woodrow High School and earned engineering degrees from West Virginia University, remaining a lifelong Mountaineers fan. He spent his career with Abbott Laboratories, first in Chicago and later in Columbus.
In retirement, Dino devoted much of his time to family, enjoying dinners, vacations, holiday traditions, school pickups, plays, and sporting events. He was known for his quiet nature, humor, Italian cooking, and the many friendships he built throughout his life.
His Christian faith was central to his life and shaped the way he cared for family, friends, neighbors, and members of his small groups.
Dino will be remembered for his steady presence, deep faith, love of family, and lasting friendships.
