Westerville Obituaries - July 6, 2025
Antoinette “Toni” L. Nilo (Bencriscutto), 98, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away on June 11, 2025, at the Avalon of Lewis Center after an extended illness. Born December 12, 1926, in Racine, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Gregorio and Caterina Bencriscutto.
Toni grew up in a large, close-knit Italian family and cherished her childhood on Blake Avenue in Racine. She met her husband, Ernest Nilo, at a high school dance and married him on June 18, 1949. They shared 60 loving years together.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Tina Nilo; grandchildren Rebbeca (Jason) Williams and Joseph Nilo; and great-grandchildren Alex and Marissa Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, and her son, Paul Thomas Nilo.
Toni was a devoted wife and mother known for her kindness, love of music and dancing, and loyalty to her Ohio State Buckeyes. In retirement, she remained active through walking and volunteer work, especially delivering Meals on Wheels.
She will be remembered for her warm heart, strength, and dedication to family.
Merilee Konich (Ault), born December 28, 1949, in Worthington, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family. A 1967 graduate of Westerville High School, she worked for Ashland Chemical Company before marrying Leonard “Len” Konich, Jr. on September 16, 1983. The family later settled in Decatur, Illinois.
Merilee was known for her love of holidays and greeting cards, always marking every occasion with thoughtful notes and gifts. Her greatest joy was being “Mimi” to her granddaughters, Susie and Rosie.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Len; daughter Maggie (Frank) Fiock; granddaughters Susie and Rosie; brother Roy (Sherrie) Ault; sister-in-law Lee Ault; and stepsisters Sue Harrison and Vickie Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Patricia Ault, and brother Kacy Ault.
Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the PAN Foundation.
Winifred “Winnie” A. Goff-Smith, born April 15, 1955, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, in Westerville, Ohio.
She is survived by her daughter, Becky Jo Robinson, and grandchildren, Taylor and Garret Robinson, who were the center of her world. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Ellis and Helen Daniels, and six siblings.
Winnie will be remembered for her kind heart, her devotion to family, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her.
Visitation will be held July 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, Ohio.
