Georgia G. Gesouras
September 10, 1935 – June 16, 2026
Georgia G. Gesouras, 90, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully June 16, 2026, at St. Ann’s Hospital. Born in Daphne, Greece, she was the daughter of Christos and Antonia Pasialis.
Georgia married Kostas Gesouras on Nov. 17, 1963, in Greece. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and Greek traditions before immigrating to the United States in 1970.
A devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Church, Georgia found her greatest joy in family gatherings, preparing traditional Greek meals, and passing her faith and heritage to future generations. She and her husband faithfully participated in church life and instilled a deep appreciation for Greek Orthodox traditions in their children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons George Gesouras and Margaret Gesouras, Chris Gesouras and Frances Gesouras, and Angelo Gesouras and Dina Gesouras; grandchildren Amanda, Kosta, Dino, Georgia, Gia, Rena, and Nia; brother George Pasialis and Toula Pasialis; brother-in-law Pete; sister-in-law Sandy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kostas Gesouras, and her sister, Eleni.
Funeral services were held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
May her memory be eternal.
Mary Alice Zimmermann Kaul
March 27, 1936 – June 15, 2026
Mary Alice Zimmermann Kaul, 90, passed away June 15, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to John and Mary Zimmermann.
Mary earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and home economics from Saint Benedict’s and pursued a Master of Arts at the University of Minnesota. She was awarded a U.S. Department of Labor fellowship in vocational rehabilitation, and her thesis was later published in the Journal of Counseling Psychology.
She began work as a guidance counselor at Westerville South High School in 1970 and served there for 28 years before retiring in 1999. She was active in the Westerville Education Association and the League of Women Voters in Minneapolis, Columbus, and Westerville.
After retirement, Mary enjoyed golf and was active for 20 years with the Women’s Westerville Area Golfing Seniors, serving as treasurer, vice president, and president. She also loved travel, visiting 49 states and 48 countries.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Theodore J. Kaul; children Richard Kaul and Karie Kaul, Thomas Kaul and Susan Kaul, and Susie Walters and Michael Walters; brother James Zimmermann and Patricia Zimmermann; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Henry “Vern” Erwin
August 9, 1927 – June 20, 2026
Henry “Vern” Erwin, 98, of Westerville, passed away June 20, 2026. Born in Bradford, Ohio, he was the son of Desser and Mary Essenmacher Erwin. He grew up in Columbus, graduated from Holy Rosary High School in 1945, and attended The Ohio State University.
Vern married Evelyn Mae Parker on March 31, 1951, beginning a marriage that spanned 75 years. A longtime Columbus resident, he was a charter member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church and active in its Men’s Club.
He retired from R. T. French Company after 33 years in food sales. In retirement, he enjoyed playing euchre at senior centers and the Worthington American Legion Post 239, golfing with his longtime friends known as the “Monday Golf Monsters,” and attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren.
Vern proudly served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserve and later participated in an Honor Flight Network trip honoring military veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughters Beverly Lynch and Mike Lynch, Marti Jones and Mike Jones, Sue Dew and Denny Dew, Barbara Landefeld and Mark Landefeld, and Patty Conti and Rick Conti; son Joe Erwin and Kris Erwin; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Willard, William, and Robert; sisters Polly Kitzmiller, Alberta Bruno, and Frances Mason; infant sisters Helen Ruth and Anna; and great-grandchildren Kennedy Rose Griffith, Eden Michelle Em, and Santino Richard Conti.
Vern will be remembered for his devotion to faith, family, country, and the generations of loved ones whose lives he supported and celebrated.
