Westerville Obituaries - May 4, 2025
Calvin William Weiss, 100, of Westerville, formerly of Parma Heights, died peacefully on April 20, 2025, after a short illness.
Born June 24, 1924, in Cleveland to Albert and Lena Weiss, he graduated from Collinwood High School in 1942 and Baldwin Wallace College in 1946. A U.S. Navy officer in WWII and the Korean War, Calvin served in the Pacific Theater and aboard the LST 1073 in Japan and Korea.
He joined NACA in 1946, retiring from NASA Lewis Research Center in 1979 as Chief of Educational Services. In 1980, he received the Crown Circle Award for leadership in aerospace education.
An aviation enthusiast and artist, Calvin exhibited award-winning model aircraft and paintings, several of which are housed at the National Soaring Museum. He was active in numerous aviation organizations and served as a judge at national air races.
Calvin was a longtime choir member and elder at Parma South Presbyterian Church. In recent years, he lived at Danbury Parkside in Westerville, where he continued to paint, play cards, and connect with friends.
Dolores “Dee” Klamfoth, 88, of Westerville, passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2025, surrounded by family.
A longtime member of Harlem Road Methodist Church, Dee retired from Huntington Bank in 1998. She enjoyed time with friends, fishing, cards, and dominos. She and her husband, Dick, traveled often and spent winters in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Her warmth, generosity, and deep love for others will be remembered by all who knew her.
