Westerville Obituaries - November 16, 2025
Roy L. Sewell, Sr., 87, of Lake Alfred, Fla., formerly of Westerville, Ohio, died Friday, November 7, 2025. He retired from Western Electric in 1989. After retirement he enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Amanda Masonic Lodge No. 509.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ethel Sewell, his brothers, Albert, George, Kenny and Floyd Sewell, and his daughter, Leisa Marie Starkey. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Sewell. Also surviving are his children, Roy (Debbie) Sewell, Norma (Charles) Foura, Joeseph Sewell and Regina Center, with William Silbereis, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Monday, November 17, at 1:00 p.m. at Pioneer Cemetery in Westerville, Ohio.
Kelly Mitchell Gebert Jr.
1988 – 2025
Kelly Mitchell Gebert Jr., 36, of Bexley, Ohio, died Monday, November 3, 2025. He was born November 11, 1988, in Westerville to Kelly Gebert Sr. and Beth Gebert. The second of eight children, he showed early initiative through Boy Scouts, paper routes, and TeenPact. He earned a degree in finance and business management from The King’s College in New York City. He worked in real estate private equity. He married Jacci in September 2015, and they later settled in Bexley. Their daughters, Palmer, born in September 2020, and Kit, born in September 2024, were his pride.
He enjoyed concerts, new restaurants, walking and biking in the city, camping with friends, travel, and church involvement. Friends and colleagues knew him as hardworking and generous.
Mark Edward Miser
1966 – 2025
Mark Edward Miser, 59, of Westerville, Ohio, died November 5, 2025. He was born February 28, 1966, in Northfield to Barb Neeland Shapiro and John Barry Miser. A Westerville North High School graduate, he worked as a skilled carpenter and an accomplished chef. He married Rebecca “Becki” Ann Harbert on March 4, 1990. He was known for quick wit, practical know-how, lively stories, and a habit of helping anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife, Becki, his children, Nicolette Miser, Nikki Rodgers, and Samantha (John) Arlington, his granddaughter, Jacklynn Ann Arlington, his stepfather, Marc I. Shapiro, and his siblings, Lori (Howard) Smith, Lesa Shapiro, Keven (Pennie) Miser, and Heather Shapiro. Also surviving are nieces Michelle (Christopher) Freeman, Melissa (Bryan) Tinlin, and Elizabeth Miser, along with their families, and many others who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barb Shapiro, his father, John Miser, his brother, Jaime Shapiro, his father-in-law, William Harbert, his mother-in-law, Martha Harbert, his brother-in-law, Martin Harbert, and his son-in-law, Alexander Rodgers. His family remembers his care for relatives, everyday rides to campus, a Thanksgiving seat pulled out for a stranger, and the reassurance he gave, “I’ve got you. Every little thing is going to be all right.”
Allen Leroy Smith
1932 – 2025
Allen “Al” Leroy Smith, 93, of Westerville, died Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Born in Johnstown, he worked alongside his older brother on the family farm before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, serving in a boat squadron during the Korean War. He was stationed in Bermuda, where he met Carole Jones, and they married soon after. Following his service, he worked for AT&T. He was an avid fan of Ohio State football and watched the Cleveland Browns whenever he could. Westerns were a daily staple, especially on GRIT TV.
He is survived by his wife, Carole, and a loving extended family and friends.
Born September 24, 1934, in Plum, Pa., the daughter of John and Ruth Lott, was sent to her eternal home on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025. Shirley Clements lived more than 80 years on New Texas Road before moving to Westerville, Ohio, 11 years ago to be nearer to family. She loved time with her family, playing games, traveling, summers at the lake and winters in Florida. Friends remember her quick smile, ready laugh, steadfast faith in Jesus, and easy way of making new friends.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert A. Clements, her children, Kimberly (Timothy) Harrison and Robert (Kelly) Clements, her grandchildren, Austin (Heather) Harrison, Ezekiel “Zeke” Harrison, Tyler, Casey, and Camryn Clements, and her great-granddaughter, Lucy Harrison. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Jane Lott, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Jack and Jim Lott.
