Joyce Selfman

Joyce Selfman, 79, of Westerville, Ohio, died peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Danbury Senior Living Facility. She was born on October 12, 1946, in Mansfield, the daughter of Dr. Albert and Mary (Sherky) Selfman. A 1964 salutatorian of Mansfield Senior High, she earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Flora Stone Mather College for Women in Cleveland and a master's in social work from Boston University. She spent her career serving children and families, beginning at Children's Services in Richland County and retiring from Franklin County. She was a longtime member of B’nai Jacob Church in Mansfield. She loved animals, traveled widely, attended Woodstock, enjoyed the arts, sought out a good bargain, and practiced photography.
Roy L. Sewell, Sr.

Roy L. Sewell, Sr., 87, of Lake Alfred, Florida, formerly of Westerville, Ohio, died Friday, November 7, 2025. He retired from Western Electric in 1989. After retirement he enjoyed fishing and time outdoors. He was a member of Amanda Masonic Lodge No. 509.
Betsy Ann Bringardner

Betsy Ann Bringardner, 71, of Westerville, Ohio, died on November 20, 2025. She was born October 29, 1954, in Gahanna to William Morgan Fisher and Betsy Davis Fisher. A graduate of Canton Glenwood High School, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University in 1976 and was an All-American swimmer. She taught for 30 years, coached middle school basketball for seven years, and helped coach the swim team at Swim and Racket in Upper Arlington. In her final years, she taught mathematics at Westerville South High School. She married Michael Bringardner on December 18, 1982. Her Christian faith guided her life.
Hugo Alfonso Chocano Extremera

Hugo Alfonso Chocano Extremera, 75, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025. He was born in April 1950 in Lima, Peru, to Catalina Amalia Estremera and Carlos Chocano Malandado. A loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, he was devoted to his church and community. He was known for his warm spirit, witty humor, love of food, and passion for traveling. Hugo built a long career in the pharmacy industry, hospitals, teaching, and supply chain, and he recently retired from Ohio Health.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his older sister, Beatrice Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ida Chocano.
