Westerville Central Shuts Out Westerville South, 17-0
Westerville Central defeated Westerville South 17-0 on Aug. 28, giving the Warhawks their first win in the series since 2018.
Cohen Buss kicked a 35-yard field goal, Luke Warden scored a first-half touchdown, and quarterback Nate Miller III connected with Niko Bogetich on a 32-yard touchdown pass late in the game.
Central’s defense held South without a first down in the first half and preserved its second consecutive shutout to open the season.
Ohio Cup Vintage Base Ball Festival Set for Sept. 5-6
The 2026 Ohio Cup Vintage Base Ball Festival will be held Sept. 5-6 at the Westerville Sports Complex, 325 N. Cleveland Ave.
More than 30 teams from across the United States are expected to participate in one of the nation’s largest vintage base ball gatherings. Games will be played using 1860s-era rules.
The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, and admission is free.
Westerville North Opens Week With Volleyball, Golf and Soccer
Westerville North has a busy athletics schedule heading into September.
On Aug. 31, North’s JV and freshman girls volleyball teams are scheduled to face Gahanna Lincoln at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity match at 7 p.m.
On Sept. 1, North’s varsity boys golf team has an event at Medallion Country Club beginning at 3:30 p.m. The JV girls soccer team is scheduled to face Delaware Hayes at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity girls match at 7:15 p.m.
JV and freshman boys golf are scheduled against Westerville Central on Sept. 2 at Royal American Golf Course, while North’s varsity girls tennis team is scheduled to face Westerville South on Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m.
Westerville Volleyball Teams Prepare for Early-September Matches
Westerville Central and Westerville South have several girls volleyball matches scheduled for early September.
Westerville Central’s freshman team is scheduled to face Thomas Worthington on Aug. 31. Central’s JV and varsity teams are listed against Thomas Worthington on Sept. 1.
Westerville South is scheduled to face Dublin Scioto in freshman, JV, and varsity competition on Sept. 1, with South’s JV team also listed against Big Walnut on Sept. 3.
Westerville North, meanwhile, is scheduled to host Gahanna Lincoln on Aug. 31, with JV and freshman matches at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.
Westerville Soccer Teams Set for Sept. 1 Contests
Westerville Central’s boys soccer teams are scheduled to host Olentangy Berlin on Sept. 1, with JV at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7:15 p.m.
Westerville South also has boys and girls soccer contests against Big Walnut listed for Sept. 1.
Westerville North’s JV and varsity girls teams are scheduled to face Delaware Hayes on Sept. 1 at 5:30 and 7:15 p.m., respectively.
Westerville Central Football Faces North on Sept. 4
Westerville Central will host Westerville North on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. in the next Westerville cross-town football matchup.
Central’s remaining regular-season schedule lists Dublin Jerome on Sept. 11, Olentangy Berlin on Sept. 18, Pickerington North on Sept. 25, Grove City on Oct. 2, Lincoln on Oct. 9, Central Crossing on Oct. 16 and New Albany on Oct. 23.

Westerville Crew currently lists Fall 2026 programs for Youth Development, Juniors and Masters rowers and provides registration for the fall season.
