Dublin
• Wendy’s selected Amber Y. Luster as its first chief tasting officer following a nationwide contest. The $100,000 promotional role will involve creating exclusive content for the Dublin-based restaurant company.
• Former Dublin Jerome High School valedictorian and right-handed pitcher Brayden Krenzel committed to transfer to the University of Arkansas baseball program.
• Dublin scheduled mosquito spraying for June 22 as part of the city’s mosquito-control program.
Gahanna
• The Gahanna Planning Commission approved demolition of the McDonald’s restaurant built in 1969 at 359 Agler Road and construction of a 1,978-square-foot replacement. Plans call for two drive-thru lanes, a self-service window and 12 parking spaces, with construction expected to take about four months.
• Road closures for the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival were scheduled from June 18 through June 21. The closures affect portions of Town Street, High Street, Mill Street and Walnut Street, with limited access available during certain periods.
Galena
• Village offices were scheduled to close June 19 for Juneteenth. Galena Village Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. June 22, and village offices will close July 3 for Independence Day.
Grove City
• Central Ohio officials held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the Hoover Road Pedestrian Bridge, the first of 83 projects planned through LinkUS. The $2.6 million bridge is expected to open by the end of 2026 and improve connections for pedestrians and cyclists.
• Grove City scheduled a showing of Lilo & Stitch for its Movies in the Park series June 17.
• Theme Thursday at The Big Splash and a HIGH Yo Fitness in the Park class were scheduled June 18.
• The Grove City Board of Zoning Appeals met June 16.
Groveport
• Motts Military Museum founder Warren Motts reflected on his work as the official photographer for the American Freedom Train during the nation’s 1976 bicentennial and on the train’s role in presenting American history.
• Groveport advised residents and motorists to expect heavy traffic near Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base during the Columbus Air Show.
• The city issued summer energy-saving recommendations, including closing blinds to reduce heat gain, using ceiling fans only while rooms are occupied and avoiding ovens and clothes dryers during the hottest parts of the day.
Hilliard
• Hilliard scheduled its Juneteenth Celebration at Station Park for June 18 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
• The Shazzbots were scheduled to perform June 20 from 10:30 a.m. to noon as part of Sprout’s Live at Station Park.
• A Summer Spraydown was scheduled June 23 from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at Heritage Middle School.
• Shucking Bubba Deluxe was scheduled to perform June 25 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. during Celebration at the Station.
• Motivation at the Station was scheduled June 27 from 7 to 9 a.m. at Station Park.
• Hilliard’s Independence Day Parade is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 4 in Downtown Hilliard. Freedom Fest and the America 250 Picnic are scheduled from 5 to 11 p.m. at Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park.
Minerva Park
• Minerva Park canceled its June 16 tornado siren test.
• The village requested public feedback on the Linden Green Line Park project.
• Infrastructure work was underway near Kerrwood Drive and North Lake Court.
Powell
• COhatch unveiled Middlebury House, a restored 140-year-old building intended for corporate retreats and team activities. A public open house was scheduled for June 20 during the Powell Festival.
Reynoldsburg
• Bubba’s 33, a restaurant chain affiliated with Texas Roadhouse, is proposed for 2928 Taylor Road SW at the former TGI Fridays property. Plans call for demolishing the existing building and constructing a new restaurant, while city staff determines whether planning-board approval is required.
• Reynoldsburg announced that all attendees at the city’s July 3 Independence Day fireworks at Civic Park must wear wristbands. Wristbands are limited to residents with proof of residency, and minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or older.
Sunbury
• Sunbury’s Services Committee reviewed proposed revisions to the city’s e-bike and micromobility rules. The discussion included possible restrictions on sidewalks for electric scooters and changes to align local regulations with Ohio law, but no formal action was taken.
• The Events and Commemorations Committee met June 16, and the Finance Committee was scheduled to meet June 17.
• Buffalo Wild Wings GO was scheduled to open June 20 at 159 State Route 3. The smaller-format restaurant focuses primarily on takeout orders.
Worthington
• Dublin-based Crawford Hoying is planning a mixed-use redevelopment of a 17-acre office portfolio in Worthington that the company acquired in 2025. The project remains in the planning stage.
