Weekly Weather Outlook
The week starts warm and a bit hazy. Monday will bring increasing clouds throughout the afternoon, with highs around 84°F and a light south breeze of 5-9 mph. It’ll be a comfortable day to start. Still, things change after dark. Showers are expected late, especially after 2 a.m., and a rumble of thunder isn’t out of the question. The overnight low is expected to be near 64 °F.
And if the clouds hold off, Monday night will also feature the full moon, which will reach its peak at 11:48 p.m. Eastern. This is October’s Harvest Moon, one of the brightest and most photographed of the year.
Tuesday looks like a wet one from start to finish. Expect periods of rain, sometimes heavy, and a few thunderstorms mixed in. The day will start with showers before 8 a.m., continue through midday, and likely pick up again after 2 p.m. The high will drop to around 73 °F with steady south winds near 10 mph. Up to three-quarters of an inch of rain is expected to fall before evening. Showers and storms may linger into the night, tapering off after approximately 2 a.m., with skies remaining mostly cloudy and a low of around 51°F. Winds will shift to the north, bringing in cooler air.
By Wednesday, the skies will clear and fall returns. Expect sunshine with a high of 67°F, followed by a crisp night with temperatures dipping to around 40°F. Thursday remains pleasant and sunny, with temperatures near 66 °F, cooling to the low 40s overnight. Friday will warm slightly to around 70 °F under clear skies, and Saturday and Sunday should bring more of the same — sunny days in the low 70s and cool, comfortable nights in the mid-40s.
Suppose you’re planning to catch the full moonrise on Monday evening. In that case, it should appear just after 7:05 p.m. and stay visible until it sets around 7:24 a.m. Tuesday.
